The Cape Area of South Africa has a very mild climate. Together with an amazing countryside, a wide variety of plants and birds, it's highly developed infrastructure and the friendly people, it's a popular vacation area.

In fact, some people (like my parents) have been known to come for a vacation and simply stay.

This postcard from Stellenbosch shows the location of our house.

If you like a good wine (and who doesn't?), you might have heard of Cape Wines.

And this is where these very good wines come from - right out of our area!

(There are also quite a few golf courses; no wonder my parents are staying there.)

As you can see, it's a very quiet area with no through-traffic (although you do see the odd tourist photographing the house).
